Parent Pledge

As Christians, we believe that a person's entire life is a loving response to our Savior's love for us. The abuse and illegal use of alcohol and other drugs is a serious problem in our society, even in our own community.
As Christian parents and members of the Illinois Lutheran family, we want to provide opportunities for our teens to socialize without the influence, pressure, or threats connected with the misuse of alcohol and other drugs.

Members of our parent network have pledged to:
  • insure that only non-alcoholic beverages are available when students are socializing in their home
  • be present and actively supervise students during parties held in their home
  • welcome telephone calls from other parents inquiring about activities or supervision during gatherings in their home
  • contact other parents if concerns arise about activities planned at their home
  • recognize that genuine cooperation, concern, and courage will need to be practiced by all involved in this program if it is to be beneficial to young people
