Illinois Lutheran High School and Junior High School

Grow with us at Illinois Lutheran High School and Junior High School!
Our goal at Illinois Lutheran is to educate the whole student, academically, spiritually and physically. We strive to equip each unique student to make a difference in the world for Jesus Christ. We have approximately 130 students in 9th through 12th grade and 60 students in 7th and 8th grades- large enough to offer a wide variety of opportunities, yet small enough that students can be engaged in more than just one extracurricular activity.

Academic Growth: Students receive an excellent education at Illinois Lutheran. Graduates are fully prepared to pursue their education at the next level. Nearly all students attended some type of post-secondary education. Approximately 75% attend four-year colleges and universities. Others will serve our nation in the military. AP options are offered in science, foriegn language and math to challenge gifted students. Students may take college-level courses online or in cooperation with local institutions. An Academic Intervention program is available to help stuggling students.

Spritual Growth: Students attend chapel daily. Two days per week chapel is a formal devotion led by a teacher or guest speaker, two days per week chapel in smaller groups in the student homerooms. One day per week chapel is led by one of the students. Frequently smaller choral or instrumental groups enhance the worship experience. Religion classes are graduation requirements every year a student is enrolled.

Athletic Growth: More than half of our students participate in extra-curricular sports. Sports programs are available for both boys and girls fall, winter and spring.

Social Growth: We offer a wide variety of co-curricular experences for students including student council, yearbook, drama, show choir and academic competitions. International travel trips are also scheduled to broaden student horizons.

Community Service: Our graduation requirement that each student performs at least 40 hours of community service during their 4 years of high school helps students to understand and appreciate the importance of sharing God's love through meaningful service. We offer many avenues of service to develop habits and patterns of servant-hood which are important Christian virtues.

Accreditation: Illinois Lutheran Schools is accredited by WELSSA and the National Council for Private School Accreditation. The schools are also fully recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education.
