Illinois Lutheran Fine Arts


Vocal music, instrumental music, drama and visual art are available as both curricular courses and co-curricular activities in elementary, junior and high school.

Vocal Music: Students in elementary school learn songs in class, sing in church services and put on an annual Chistmas Concert. High school and junior high student choirs perform in four major concerts during the school year. Additional smaller groups perform for the fall and spring concerts. Students may also audition for the show choir Micahtam.

Instrumental Music: Beginner band is available for students in 4th grade. The elementary band is directed by Mr. Joel Buege. Private lessons are available for band students. The junior high and high school bands are under the direction of second-generation band director Mr. Jon Hermanson. Band concerts are scheduled throughout the school year.

Visual Arts: Art classes are offered from elementary through high school. In the elementary school students may participate in Young Rembrandts - an after school art program. Junior high students have required art classes. High school Art is an elective.Various works of art are exhibited at local art shows. Students may also showcase their graphic arts talent by becoming a member of the yearbook staff.
