Chargers Go Winless in 3 Straight
Record:  7-10-3

The Chargers played at Peotone on Tuesday afternoon.  During the first half, the Chargers and Blue Devils played an even match with the Blue Devils holding a 10-8 shot advantage.  It was the Chargers that found the net first in the 38th minute of action on a poorly cleared ball by the Blue Devil defense that was sent back toward the net by sophomore defender JASON KOTECKI giving the Chargers a 1-0 halftime lead.  The Blue Devils would come out to start the second half with new energy, scoring 4 goals over the first 12 minutes of the half.  The Blue Devils added two more goals in the 71st and 77th minutes winning the contest by a final score of 6-1.

On Thursday, the Chargers went to Park Forest to play the Rockets of Rich East High School.  The Rockets would score in the 7th and 15th minutes to take an early 2-0 lead.  As the half continued, the Chargers worked into the Rocket defense and slowly began to take control of the middle of the field.  In the 29th minute, a Rocket defender failed to put a good touch on a long cross from sophomore defender SETH McGATHEY that slipped behind him and was dribbled all the way for the score by senior midfielder NATE WAGGONER.  The Chargers would score again in the 37th minute when WAGGONER broke down the Rocket defense and sent a ball into the goal area that was mishandled by senior forward JOSH OELER, but then passed to freshman midfielder NICK DURAND for the equalizing goal.  Throughout the second half, neither the Chargers nor the Rockets were able to garner any great chances at the opposing net.  The game would end in a 2-2 draw.

Saturday the Chargers headed to Michigan to take on the Titans of Michigan Lutheran High School.  For the first 10 minutes of play, the Chargers controlled the ball and kept it in the Titan defensive third.  The Titans threatened through the middle of the half and the Chargers again worked over the Titan defense for the final 10 minutes of the half.  Despite a 14-8 shot advantage, the Chargers did not find the net and the half ended 0-0.  Early in the second half, the Chargers allowed a Titan attacker to sneak behind the line on a through ball that was buried into the net at the 45th minute of play.  The Titans would add another goal in the 58th minute on a direct restart from 20 yards that was played nicely into the upper corner.  The Chargers outshot the Titans in the second half 6-4 giving them a 20-12 shot advantage, but a 2-0 loss on the scoreboard for the contest.  The Chargers continue to struggle at finishing their attack and capitalizing on their work to control the middle and earn opportunities.

The Chargers will host the St. Anne Cardinals on Wednesday which is Parents/Senior Day.
